Here is a Catholic writer that deserves being rediscovered. These selections do not duplicate the Claudel writings Chuck used in past Lenten seasons. Setting the Record Straight - Mother Of Our Laws - The Catholic Church - 1/30/18

Are modern concepts of fair play and humane treatment of others the result of the slowly evolving trial-and-error improvement of standards of behavior? Maybe it was the Age of Reason. Or should we thank the Enlightenment? Or attribute it to the suppression of the “patriarchy”. Actually the advance in morality and laws occurred rather rapidly when our big Mother arrived.
